How this all started
Once upon a time (okay, not that long ago), Sharla was flat-out broke, stuck in the grind, and doing mental gymnastics every month just to pay her mortgage.
It was exhausting. The kind of exhaustion that sits in your bones and makes you wonder if this is just how life is now. She decided to sell her house, built a tiny home, and hit the road travelling NZ. It wasn’t glamorous, there were composting toilet disasters and one memorable night where she woke up to find a police chase happening around her tiny home, but it gave her something she hadn’t had in years: breathing room.
Somewhere along the way, she realised that she wasn’t the only one looking for something different. Something smaller, freer, less about keeping up appearances and more about actually living. So she created Tiny House Hub, not as some influencer-y dream board, but as a down-to-earth, honest-as-anything space where people can find good info, and connect with others who get it.
We’re here to help you navigate everything from finance to land leases, and understand regulations without needing a PhD in council-speak. Because tiny house living isn’t about giving up. It’s about taking back control. And maybe, just maybe, having enough space for a kettle, a good book, and living the life you want.
